2021 was another interesting year, to say the least. In the past twelve months, we experienced many shifts in our families, communities, and workplaces. As we start a new year, the Air Waves leadership team thought it would be beneficial to spend some time reflecting on our year along with setting a vision for 2022. You can read our interview below:
Q: What was Air Waves’ biggest accomplishment in 2021?
A: Definitely finding the balance for the ongoing supply chain issues and the teams’ ability to onboard and execute a number of new clients was a great way to end the year.
Q: What was a challenge that Air Waves experienced in 2021 and how did your team overcome the said challenge?
A: Like most industries, unpredictability was common all year long. Each of our departments really worked hard to drive towards a successful 2021. We are lucky to have a bright, empowered, and diligent team that is aligned to succeed.
Q: What is one way you saw the Air Waves team practice the pillar “Innovate Every Day” in 2021?
A: Our development team really stood out this year, understanding and producing a multitude of tools, reports, and back-end software to make the decision-making easier and help simplify the number of complexities within production.
Q: What is one way you saw the Air Waves team practice the pillar “Create your own destiny” in 2021?
A: If we looked at where we were in January and where we ended in December, there is only about 50% of what we expected. The continuation of Covid has defined flexibility and change management but the efforts to embrace this lead us down a variety paths to help us drive a successful year.
Q: What is one way you saw the Air Waves team practice the pillar “Outwork & outsmart the competition” in 2021?
A: Technology was a big factor for us. New and effective ways to obtain real-time data to make decisions were a key factor, coupled with building out tools to simplify our art design approvals were pivotal steps completed this year.
Q: What is one way you saw the Air Waves team practice the pillar “Respect” in 2021?
A: We have a really good group of people within our organization. While respect is a main pillar, this is one pillar that comes very naturally to each team member. So while things were hectic at numerous times throughout the year, team members were able to balance the stresses of work and life, all while continuing to treat each other with respect.
Q: What is the biggest lesson you learned during the past year?
A: Being nimble is critical! From the staff to our products, to sourcing, to new ideas, etc. We really had to be creative and flexible this year as things are in a state of constant change. Moving and adapting at the pace we are able is critical to our success and ability to grow.
Q: What are you most excited about for Air Waves and its customers in 2022?
A: Our merger with Hybrid offers the business a large opportunity for growth with many new revenue channels which have already begun. We look forward to 2022 with a strong outlook on the trajectory of the business. We have a great team in place and look to add some key roles to our team. We are excited to build further upon the initial integration with Hybrid and look to collectively grow the POD business.
